Lauren Van Kurin "LVK" is an actor, improviser, writer, voice over artist, and world traveller based in Los Angeles, CA. Raised in Yorba Linda, California, Lauren attended Esperanza High School then ventured to Indiana University, where she majored in TeleCommunications and minored in Theatre (she should have double majored but no respectable person majors in theatre). She studied abroad at Goldsmiths College in London, England her junior year taking theatre & writing classes, travelling, and even working at a West End Theatre (Blood Brothers! selling ice creams, programs & loot) because the English pack classes into 3 or 4 days a week, too much time on her hands.
After graduating, Lauren moved to Chicago to pursue the theatrical stage. In the meantime she took an internship with The Second City. Having never taken an improv class, she fell in love with the people on that mainstage. She decided she wanted that theatre to hire her. She studied at The Second City Conservatory, iO, and The Annoyance Theatre.
Lauren has performed in Chicago at The Second City's Unhinged Series, iO (formerly Improv Olympic) and the Del Close Festival in NYC with her improv group BoxCo, The New York Fringe Festival, Chicago Sketchfest, The Out of Bounds Festival, Baby Wants Candy, numerous improvised and written shows at Donny's Skybox, The Annoyance and iO theatres. Improvising with the Second City House Ensemble Twisty and HouseCo, co-writing and performing in W.A.S. and SALEM! The Musical.
