My friend Elise and I wrote this pilot that we are re-shooting, (fingers crossed someone likes it!) about having odd jobs instead of taking the soul sucking corporate job.
I'm currently in a soul sucking shitty non corporate yet corporate service job. There are great lows, barely any highs. It's a job for right now. Here are some highlights of this job:
- saying phrases like "Thanks for the lesson" and "You're really bugging me" to coworkers.
- putting my hand up in coworker's faces as if I'm saying "talk to the hand" but really just trying to get them to shut the fuck up so this customer can order their nonfat FAT drink.
- double blended. you can't tell the difference
- people think I've worked this job before because I'm a hard worker and fast learner. Pay Me More or I'm quitting. Wait I am quitting!
- Nicknames I give to coworkers behind their back like "braid" and "grumpy old woman"
- giving away free drinks to people just cause. It makes me feel like GAWD for a day! "you come in here all the time" It's on me ;)
I think this will make me appreciate any success I have in the future. This is a terrible job to try and survive on yet I'm doing it for the time being. Everyone should experience serving at least once in their life. They should remember the people serving them are the future Emmy, Tony, Oscar winners that cannot wait for your pampered ass leaves the store so we can talk shit about how your 120 degree double tall latte was infact decaf because you were a fucking
